DU SITE
D'ENCHERES <<E-BAY>> usa

- hôte :
e-bay,

- Rare and unusual
example of the merger between Studebaker and Packard.
This car is powered by the same factory supercharged 289
cid V8 as found in the 1957/58 Studebaker Golden Hawk.
Well equipped with power steering, power brakes,
Flight-O-Matic transmission, Wonderbar radio, rear
speaker, tinted glass, dual rear power antennae and
Twin-Traction differential. All numbers match the factory
production order. The car shows 94K miles, and has been
in storage since 1988. While I cannot vouch for the
history (I purchased the car from a person who had a
storage lien on it) the engine and transmission appear to
have been rebuilt not many miles ago, as the compression
is excellent, and pulling the valve covers revealed very
fresh and clean internal parts. Same with the
transmission when looking into the inspection/filler neck
opening. The body has been repainted from the original
Lilac & Artic White to the present Gold & White.
There are a few bubbles appearing in the paint, but no
rust through, and the underside appears very solid. The
car was originally sold in San Leandro, Ca and I
purchased it in Vacaville, CA
it appears to have
spent its life in Northern California. Unfortunately, a
family of squirrels made the car their home while in
storage, so the interior will need a complete redo. I
have put new radial whitewall tires on the car, as well
as new belts & hoses and had the radiator resealed.
It runs very strong, even without the supercharger
installed (the McCulloch VS-57 blower is now in the shop
being rebuilt, and will be included with the car after
rebuilt). Glass is near mint, chrome fair to good with no
cracks but some pitting, bumpers very straight with only
minor dings. This would make an excellent Tour Car with
just paint and interior, and is a solid enough original
to be a good candidate for a complete restoration.
Considering that the drivetrain appears rebuilt, and it
has new tires and a freshly rebuilt blower, that alone is
around $3000 that will not have to be spent on
restoration. The car is offered as is, where is with no
warranties implied
