1961 Rambler American Convertible-Restored-NR Vehicle Description : I'm listing this car for a friend and will do my best to accurately describe it. If you have questions beyond my description or on specific details, I will furnish the owner's name and phone number for your personal contact. Car was purchased in a partially restored state and completed approx one year ago. It has been driven about 1000 miles since completion. It handles and performs well at all speeds. Milage indicated is 46,457, but can not be verified. It has the overhead valve 6 cyl engine that had been rebuilt and runs well, does not overheat. The automatic transmission shifts properly and was resealed two months ago to cure some minor leaks. It is well optioned with power steering, Yadded dash, dual outside mirrors, radio (not installed but included), and rare dash mounted clock. The top is new as is the complete interior upholstery and carpets. The driver's seat has a small tear that looks like someone sat in it with a screwdriver in their pocket. Tires are new bias ply whitewalls. The complete brake system was rebuilt and functions well. The exhaust system was rebuilt including an original ceramic coated tail pipe. Paint is two years old and very presentable, although there are several nicks and chips. Trim is in good condition, bumpers look good but have not been replated. The trunk floor had been replaced, nice job. The top mechanism is all in place but is not functioning. Have not tried to rework, top raises and lowers easily by hand. Includes an original factory repair manual. The reflections in the picture . A really cute example of 1960's styling that you can get in and drive at freeway speeds the day you get it home. How many cars have you bought that can say that! Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Listed with no reserve. Vehicle Condition : Overall #2 condition. Some minor detailing to be completed. A knowledgable viewer pointed out that it has a 1962 grille. This is likely as there was no grille included when the car was acquired and the owner purchased one that was represented as correct for this model. The title identifies the car as a 1961
