marque ROB IDA
CONCEPTS modèle TUCKER LOW
TORPEDO 48 année quantité/prix
For four generations, the Ida's
have been Tucker Fanatics. Back in 1947, Joe Ida heard about
the revolutionary new car dubbed "The Car Of
Tomorrow". When he learned more about Preston Tucker, and
his exciting new ideas, Joe Knew that he needed to be a part
of this. Joe and his brothers Frank and Dominic pooled their
money together and opened a Tucker Dealership in Yonkers NY.
After Preston Tucker's legal issues said to be applied by
the competition put him out of business, the dealers were
also left out of business. Joe never gave up on
believing in Preston Tucker and his car. For the next fifthy
years, Joe regretted noit having purchased one of the 51
cars that were auctioned of by the government at the Tucker
plant in Chicago. The car haunted him, but as the years went
by, the cars became more and more valuable and to him less
and less obtainable. Fast forward fifthy years...... Ida
Automotive Inc. started by Joe's son Bobby in 1959 as a Hot
Rod and performance related repair shop saw a world of
changes through its history. When Bobby's son Rob joined the
company in 1990, together the father and son team made
specialty vehicles an exclusive focus. Together they
designed and created many specialty cars and manufactured
components for the automotive aftermarket. World class
custom cars were coming out of the shop as their equipment
and capabilities grew. Having a shop that was now able to
create entire cars in house, the Three generations decided
to embark on the ultimate project, a New Tucker 48. This is
not a "KIt Car" or some cheap "look-a-like", but a hand
crafted "Continuation Car" built with the same principles in
mind that Preston Tucker beleived in back in 1948. Preston
Tucker was a forward thinking creative mind, that looked
forward, not back. For him styling was very important,
equally as important as forward thinking
mechanicals. With keeping in harmony with
Preston Tuckers beleifs, the Ida's decided their New Tucker
48s should also couple the classic Tucker design, but with
modern materials and performance abilities. Mid-engine, four
wheel disc brakes, rack and pinion steering, Transverse
engine, Climate control, etc. were all key elements in
designing our cars. Please see the video and photos
below to see what is the latest Tucker Projects going on in
our shop. Our tuckers are only available as
Turn Key cars, and are very exclusive. They can only be
purchased directly from us, there will only be 51 cars
built, and only available one at a time. We do not sell
bodies, parts or "kits". Follow our site to see when the
next car will be available.
Air Ride Technologies et Fat Man Fab. Trains roulants
high-tech... Le freinage est
assuré par des disques perforés et
ventilés avec étriers Wilwood à 6
pistons à l'avant et à
l'arrière. La voiture est
équipée de jantes Billet "Bob" de 22 pouces
montées sur des pneumatiques taille basse Hankook
Performance Tires. Côté
moteur...
antagoniste, in english "suicide doors"... Les détails qui
tuent...
Torpedo "Lower 48" Twin Turbo by Rob Ida Concepts, a
reçu le "Design Excellence Award" lors du SEMA Show
2005 !
