- Summary
: One-of-a-kind attention getter. 1999 T-Rex 468cid Chevy
big block V8. Unique, high performance, custom-built
Hummer.
- Description
: 1999 T-Rex 468 roadster, built by Colby Donaldson.
Engine is 468cid Chevy big block V8 with estimated 525hp
and torque of 490. The exhaust is jet hot coated with
Doug Thorley Tri-Y headers, 3" mandrel bent dual tubing
and Flowmaster mufflers. The radiator is aluminum AFCO.
The transmission is 4L80E 1-ton automatic with overdrive,
chrome pan and polished cover built by Jet transmission.
The transfer case is New Process 205, steel housing, gear
driven, 1-ton unit. Driveshaft is custom built with
Spicer CV and u-joints. The axles/diffs are front -1-ton
DANA 60, gusseted for strength and Arb air actuated
locker. Rear: 1-ton full floating corporate 14-bolt,
custom truss for strength and Detroit locker. The ring
and pinion are 5.31:1. The brakes are 4-wheel discs. The
suspension is front - soft side double tapered springs
with polyurethane bushings. Custom sway bar
quick-disconnect for extreme axle articulation. Back:
soft side double tapered springs with polyurethane
bushings. Custom shackle inversion. Innovative wishbone
traction system to prevent axle wrap under acceleration
without limiting articulation. Shocks are dual Rancho
RS9000, 5-way adjustable, cellular gas and chromed.
Steering is AGR high performance pump with 1-ton gear box
dual stabilizers. Wheels are 16.5 x 14 weld racing
"Typhoons" in polished aluminum. Tires are 39/18-16.5
Mickey Thompson Baja belted. Paint is 2-stage Deltron
base coat/clear coat Midnight Black. Electrical is dual
optima Red Top batteries mounted under mid seats, 100 amp
heavy duty alternator in chrome. Moroso master power
shut-off with remote jump terminals. Winch is Warn 10,000
lb. Bumpers are custom designed and fabricated. Gauges
are liquid filled Autometer pro-comp and silver faced.
Steering wheel is Billet Specialties polished, "Typhoon"
and matches wheels. Upholstery is two tone grey tweed
with seating for 6. Sound system is 12-disc Alpine remote
CD changer, 4 diamond audio 6" mid range speakers, 4
diamond audio 1" tweeters, 2 JL audio 10" subwoofers and
Rockford Fosgate 600 watt 6-channel amplifier. Restraints
are RJS racing harnesses. Top is removable, retractable
softtop, designed and manufactured by Kayline. The cover
is custom fit flannel. **PREVIOUSLY TITLED AS A
