    • 1960 Dodge Polara with D500 emblem Ultra RARE Vehicle Description
    • Up for auction is a automobile that is rarely ever offered for sale. It is a 1960 Dodge Polara two door hardtop. The styling resembles that of a jet aircraft with the large canted fins and cylindrical tail-light housings! This particular car was manufactured in Canada and has some differences from the US manufactured Polara. The largest engine offered in Canada was the 361 cu.in. big block, the US had the 383 which is basically the same engine. The other differences are with theinterior seat material and some minor trim oddities. The car looks like it was painted in the 1970's and the carpet was replaced with a brown shag rug. I have sinceremoved the carpeting. The engine is the 361 big block with torqueflite 3 speed automatic pushbutton transmission. The options include power steering, tinted glass, two-tone paint(cocoa metallic with satin roof sweep), large stainless quarter moldings, dual strut mirrors, heater, and radio. The car runs excellent and the dual exhaust system was completely replaced using original(nos)mopar sonomatic mufflers! The interior is very nice, the seats look perfect with no tears( not sure if it is original). The carpet will need to be replaced as well as the cardboard panel on the rear seat deck. The car was last registered and driven in 1988 in Ontario, Canada. The trunk and passenger floors are solid but do have a couple of small holes the size of a pencil. The underside of the car is real clean with NO rust scales on frame/unibody. The car is nice solid example that would look great with some cosmetics or it would "steal the show" with a restoration!!! Included with this auction is a 1960 D-500 trunk emblem and the rare compass or turret style clock along with the dash from a parts car. An extra astrophonic AM radio is also included. Good Luck and email me with questions or additional pictures. Please, only serious buyers!
    • Vehicle Condition . The brakes will need to be overhauled. There is an oil leak, probably from sitting, coming from the oil pan. Most likely the rear seal on the pan. Front fender will need some adjustments to align correctly with the hood. Tires are probably 20 years old and should be replaced. Horn is not working.
    • Terms of Sale The successful high bidder of this auction is required to send owner a 10% deposit within 3 days of auction end. The balance is due 10 days after auction end. The buyer is responsible for all transportation costs from sellers address. Certified bank check, money order, or bank wire are accepted. The seller and buyer can work out a time limit for removing the vehicle. Please email with any questions!or call 508-867-3888.
    • On Jul-05-01 at 07:38:08 PDT, seller added the following information:
I forgot to mention that I found 2 of the rare turret or compass style clocks for this car, I also was able to obtain the dash piece containing the hole for the clock to mount in. Included with the clock is the cable and hardware for setting the time and the complete wire harness that would plug into the main harness. Also, I have another 1960 Dodge factory AM radio that goes with the car. I have pictures of the trunk floor showing that it is all original with the ribs(indentations) and black drain plugs. No rubber mat here! Please email me for pictures if you like!!
